A fabulously festive day out...

Ok... I don't like talk of Christmas in September either. But the Magic of Christmas Fair takes place in November... and being described as an exquisite & eclectic mix of all things vintage, handmade & festive, I thought it only polite to mention!

Debbie will be taking a selection of the shop's goodies along to accompany the other delights available to sample, inspire, try on, and buy - Why not get your Christmas shopping out of the way early?! It's local too so maybe regulars to the shop can join in the festivities??

It's on the 11th and 12th of November 2011, at East Bridgford Hill, Nottinghamshire.

Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair 2011

The name says it all. Great, northern and overflowing with professional contemporary craft - The event which attracted over 6000 visitors in 2010 is back for its 4th year providing cutting edge contemporary craft to buy from over 140 selected designer-makers in ceramics, glass, jewellery, interior and fashion textiles, wood, silver and more. Visitors can spend the day in a relaxed yet stimulating atmosphere, chat to the makers about their work and buy or commission pieces directly from them.

Debbie Bryan will by offering up her latest collections. These include gorgeous felted mohair scarves, lace-knit heritage wraps and purl stitch cotton designs.

Save the date!

On Sunday 16th October 2011 from 10am-3.30pm at The Roundhouse, Pride Park, Derby, Debbie is taking part in Save The Date Magazine's Wedding Event with a difference.

Described as 'bursting with interactivity, there will be live demonstrations, the best suppliers in the area (all doing something creative), fantastic entertainment, a professional catwalk show, vintage afternoon tea and much, much, more...'

Debbie will be promoting the shop and all it's treasures to brides/maids/grooms and anyone else who happens to pop by looking for something a little unique. Perhaps a personal design room party would make an ideal hen party? Make your own brooches? Learn to hand bind your own photo album? Or perhaps commission a designer to produce handmade invites!?

We think you should come along whether you're getting married or not! It's going to be a big day...

Fancy a free guided walk around Nottingham's Lace Market? Then come and pick up a 'Threads' route map in our lovely shop!

The audio tour, comissioned by Theatre Writing Partnership, is a chance to experience the city in a new way, stopping in quiet squares, at unlikely vantage points and in the occasional pub or two... seeing familiar Nottingham Vistas and landmarks in a different light. The audio tracks can be downloaded for free from here.

Collection from Peter Clayton now at the shop...

We've just received fresh work from Leicester based artist Peter Clayton. His eyecatching prints are created using a mixture of lino and screen print processes combined with other media. We have a selection of framed and unframed work available.

Peter is 'influenced by British Art, Design and Literature of the 1930's' and 'inspired by family and social history'. His intention is to 'conjure up a semi-fictional past where the only blight on an otherwise sunny day is being poisoned by some dastardly fiend or mislaying ones cufflinks.'

Why not pop by and decide for yourself what the narrative of each image holds...?

Exclusive heritage furniture collection...

A new furniture collection created exclusively for our lovely shop cleverly reflects Nottingham's rich Lace Heritage and Manufacturing Industry. Talented design duo Emma Britton and Jack Mathieson have piled their creativity and design skills together, creating three distinctive and original tables that demonstrate British Design and Craftsmanship at its best.

Pop in to view the work, or click here for more information.
