Come and name our ladies...

Is she called Felicity? Georgina? Sophia? ...Think you can do better??

Throughout March we're running a 'Name the Ladies' Competition to raise money for Midlands Women's Aid. Pick up a £1 competition card and name each of the 10 lovely ladies on our walls, hand drawn by Charlotte Thomson, for a chance to win a signed print.

Names will be drawn during the evening on March 31st between 6-8pm.

Emma's Tea Party

The tea and cake were out in style last Sunday, while Fashion Design student Emma Ojapah gave a talk on how 100 years of fashion have been the inspiration for her forthcoming collection.

Events at the shop last weekend

Katie Almond joined us at the shop last Saturday, sharing her creative skills in two workshops held in our design room. Everyone who came created and hand decorated their own stoneware tile or set of porcelain brooches. The results were stunning!

19th March - 3D Paper Mosaic Frame Making Workshop - £42

Multiple award winning designer Hannah Lobley will share her working methods and the inspiration behind her innovative 'Paperwork' technique. You will create your own 3D box frame collage/mosaic. The workshop is from 11am-5pm and includes all materials, tea, light lunch and homemade cake. Part of our Sustainable Design Workshop Season.

24th March - Femme Fatale Life Drawing Party - £25

Be glamorous! This is not your usual life drawing class - The theme is Film Noir and Hollywood Starlet. Learn from Charlotte Thomson how to create beautiful & voluptuous drawings of our model Jody Capuano. The workshop is from 6-9pm and includes all materials, tea and homemade cake. Part of our Sustainable Design Workshop Season.

26th March - Textile Frame Making Workshop - £25

Designer Jayne Childs shares her experience and gives individual help to create your own hand embroidered textile frame and reference samples using J.C. Middlebrook's own Nottingham Lace designs and specially sourced vintage fabrics. The workshop is from 10am-1pm and includes all materials, tea and homemade cake. Part of our Sustainable Design Workshop Season.

9th April - Porcelain Brooch Making Workshop - £20

Be inspired by talented ceramist Katie Almond's design secrets and create your own stunning trio of porcelain brooches. The workshop is from 11am-1pm and includes all materials, tea and and homemade cake. Part of our Sustainable Design Workshop Season.


25th June - Beginners Knit Masterclass - £25

Ideal for total beginners or knitters who have just begun. Hattie Kerrs will be teaching you casting on, casting off, knit, purl, increasing and decreasing - Everything you need to know as a beginner. The workshop is from 10am-1pm and includes all materials, tea and homemade cake.

25th June - Advanced Knit Masterclass - £25

This masterclass is for the more experienced knitter - Or a fast learner! Hattie Kerrs will introduce you to the delights of fair isle and cabling. The workshop is from 2-5pm and includes all materials, tea and homemade cake.

Name the Ladies Competition - A Fundraiser for Midlands Women's Aid

If you have admired Charlotte Thomson's illustrations on the walls of our lovely shop, now's your chance to take one home! Simply purchase a £1 competition card and name the ladies to be entered into our prize draw to win your own signed print of Charlotte's hand drawn ladies.

13th March - Sunday Tea Party with 100 Years of Fashion

A special talk from fashion design student Emma Ojapah about how 100 years of fashion have been the inspiration for the forthcoming collection. Free entry with tea, cake and talks from 2pm.

20th March - Sunday Tea Party with Creatively Confident - 1-3pm

Starting and running a business is a challenging thing to do. Creative business mentor Sarah McNicol will teach you some simple ways to help you be more effective and enjoy your successes. 27th March - Sunday Tea Party with the WI

Learn traditional craft skills from the talented WI ladies. This party is a fundraiser for Nottingham Breast Cancer Support Group. Free entry with tea, cake and a prize draw from 1-4pm.
